Nintendo has updated their official E3 2019 web page with an itinerary for the event, as well as set a date for the next Nintendo Direct. This one will be an E3 presentation and is set to broadcast on June 11th at 9 AM, PST. The website states that this Nintendo Direct will feature “a sneak peek at upcoming games for the Nintendo Switch system” and will be software-focused.
Nintendo didn’t drop any big bombs on followers for what’s in store this E3, sticking with a general schedule for Nintendo fans to follow along with their presentations this June 11-13th. In addition to the Direct stream, there will be several days of tournaments for Splatoon 2 and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Nintendo is also offering several days of Treehouse Live broadcasts, with more details forthcoming. It’s sure to sate fans with a steady stream of Nintendo gameplay news.
Attendees of E3 who want to check out what Nintendo has in store are encouraged to pick up a Warp Pipe Pass, which allows for faster access to “select” games that can be demoed at E3. Playable games have yet to be specified.
Nintendo plans to keep this year’s E3 presentations “focused entirely on software” and have confirmed that they won’t be showing off a new model of their Switch console. However, there hasn’t been any official statement about reducing the price of the current Switch model this year, so that’s still potentially on the table. Nintendo’s radio silence about the 3DS also makes it pretty likely that their E3 showcase will focus exclusively on the Switch.
So far, Nintendo has officially announced that it will be covering a number of games this year, including Super Mario Maker 2, Fire Emblem: Three Houses, Astral Chain, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order, Dragon Quest 11 S: Echoes of an Elusive Age–Definitive Edition, Animal Crossing for Nintendo Switch, Daemon X Machina, Luigi’s Mansion 3, Pokémon Sword and Shield, and The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening.
