New Gameplay Trailer for Titanfall 2 DLC Monarch’s Reign

Respawn Entertainment has released a new gameplay trailer for “Monarch’s Reign”, the newest upcoming DLC for Titanfall 2.  The trailer shows off the much of the new content coming in the update, including the new Monarch titan in action, which we’ll have to wait one more week before we can play when it drops next Tuesday, May 30th.

The trailer gives us our first look at the Monarch, the newest Titan to join the ranks of Titanfall 2, which will be free and available to all players.  The Monarch is a mid-range Vanguard-class Titan that has the unique ability to upgrade itself while on the battlefield, by using its unique “Upgrade Core”.  Players will be able to select a path of upgrades ahead of time, and then try to keep their Monarch alive and functioning on the battlefield long enough to level up to its final form.

The Monarch is designed from the “salvaged, badly burnt remains of two Vanguard-class Titans”, and engineered with a focus on both survivability and support, enabling flexibility across roles.  This is most exemplified in the Monarch’s ability to drain power from enemy Titans to recharge either its own shields, or the shields of its friendly Titans.

Other new gameplay additions to Titanfall 2 in this update include a new execution called “Now You See Me”, a brutal takedown pulled off by an invisible pilot, as well as a new map, Relic, which is described as “all about assaulting and controlling the center and engaging in firefights from the great viewpoints of the ship against the varied defensible positions in the town.”

The trailer also shows off the new cosmetics being added to the game, including two new “Prime” Titans: Ronin Prime and Tone Prime, which are purchasable as part of the DLC.  Other new cosmetics include new Nose Art, Camos, and Callsigns.

Monarch’s Reign will be available starting May 30th; you can read more on the Titanfall 2 Monarch’s Reign update at respawn.com.
