We’re almost at the end of the year, and for the gaming community, that means it’s almost time for the release of Cyberpunk 2077. The game has been delayed three different times now despite going gold before the most recent one, putting CD Projekt Red under some intense backlash, especially when it was revealed that the studio was going through more crunch hours to finish the game. It also doesn’t help that it’s easily one of the most anticipated titles in history, setting up an unprecedented amount of hype for the better part of four years. Thankfully, it looks like the December 10 date is ironclad (we hope) and now some more gameplay footage has surfaced, this time from a German TV broadcast.
The footage is only a little more than a minute long but shows off quite a bit in such a short time span. In the beginning, we see multiple snippets of footage from the game, all from the perspective of the player, with someone narrating in the background in German. It then cuts to the player moving around in a settlement of sorts with an objective marker and the objective text on the right-hand side of the screen. The Heads Up Display is minimal, with the intent more than likely to give the player a much broader look at the world around them.
We also got a very brief look at the create-a-character section, and it looks like the details are going to be even more intricate than we initially thought. Right after this, the popular Johnny Siverhand makes his appearance, who is of course voiced and portrayed by actor Keanu Reeves, which the character is also modeled after. The video then shows some consequences of our decisions and what they will lead to in some aspects of the game. In this instance, we have the choice to either gun down this thug in front of us or negotiate a much more peaceful option in order to proceed.
CD Projekt Red has also stated that there will be another livestream for the game, dubbed the Night City Wire, later this week which will focus on none other than Johnny Silverhand himself. The stream is dated for November 19, which was the previous launch date for Cyberpunk 2077 before being pushed to December 10. The company has also dispelled any notion that the game will suffer another delay, which means that this is the home stretch for Cyberpunk 2077.
Cyberpunk 2077 will officially launch on December 10 for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/Series S, and PC through Steam, GOG, and Google’s Stadia.
