For the 25th anniversary of the Worms franchise, Evercade has announced the next cartridge coming to the platform, Worms Collection 1The Collection consists of three classic titles from the series; Worms, Worms Armageddon, and Worms Blast. The franchise started back in 1995 where the fun art-style, collection of characters, and complex, yet enjoyable gameplay created its own strategy genre. In total, the franchise has over titles. The Evercade Worms Collection 1 will be released in May 2021. Pre-orders for the cartridge will begin in the coming months.

Worms was originally released in 1995. It’s a turn-based game where a player controls a team of worms against other teams of worms that are controlled by the computer or another player. The objective is to be the last worms standing using various weapons to kill the worms on the other teams. Worms Armageddon is the third game in the series, released in 1999. Similar to the first game, players control a team of eight worms fighting against an opposing team using a wide range of weapons. Released in 2002, Worms  Blast is very different from the other two games in this collection. The main mode here is called “Puzzle Mode” where players would have to complete various stages with each stage being different. One stage has players shooting down certain forms of blocks or avoiding hostile blocks that move around the screen.
