The Electric State is a new Netflix film directed by the Russos, that was released yesterday, March 14, 2025. The film explores a simultaneously futuristic and retro United States, where robots are exiled to a 200-square-mile area known as The Electric State following a brutal war. Humans are forbidden from entering the exile land, but Millie Bobby Brown’s character, Michelle, believes that it may provide answers. The show is based on Simon Stålenhag’s 2018 graphic novel, which follows a little girl and her small yellow robot as they adventure through a futuristic wasteland. The Electric State Netflix adaptation expands the comic book’s world while remaining true to the Stålenhag emotional story beats.
In addition to the movie, Netflix Games plans on releasing an accompanying mobile title called The Electric State: Kid Cosmo. Netflix Games, an extension of the Netflix streaming service, gives Netflix members access to over 120 free mobile games that have no ads, no extra fees, and no in-app purchases. All Netflix Games can be downloaded from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store and played on mobile devices.
The Electric State: Kid Cosmo is an upcoming adventure puzzle game that follows the perspective of siblings Chris and Michelle from the Netflix adaptation. Its narrative takes place prior to the film’s events and spans over five chronological years, mixing story and interactive gameplay. Electric State: Kid Cosmo will be available on both iOS and Android devices, accessible to anyone with an active Netflix subscription.
Netflix shared the prequel game’s release date via a post on the official Netflix Games X (formerly Twitter) account. The post states that Electric State: Kid Cosmo will release on March 18, 2025, just three days from now and four days after the film’s Netflix debut.
