Moon Hunters Gets July 12th Release For PS4

Created by Montréal-based indie studio Kitfox Games, high-fantasy role-playing adventure game, Moon Hunters gets a Playstation 4 release this upcoming summer, on July 12th, 2016.

Originally slated for a winter of 2015 release,  the game will be made available for PS4 in all North American and European regions, and there is nor further word on a Vita release, but developers are still working towards making it a reality.

The game was originally released for PC and Xbox One back in 2014 (via funding through a successful Kickstarter campaign) and was celebrated for its well-utilized co-op options, allowing from 1 to 4 players to join in on the fun! Players join on a fantastic hunt to find the missing moon. Players are tasked with solving ancient puzzles and restoring balance to the world.

You have 5 days before King Mardokh and the Sun Cultists declare war on Issaria’s tribes. Multiple playthroughs of this short story will let you see it from different angles and uncover new sides to characters, conflicts, and narratives. Try out all 4 player hometowns and 6 player character classes, each with their own abilities and randomly generated upgrades as you build your mythology.

Every action and choice you make contributes to your legend, as a constellation in the night sky. How will you be remembered?

According to Creative Director Tanya Short who was quoted writing on the PlayStation official blog, saying:

The game itself has changed a lot since the original concept, but the whole time, we’ve been driven by this fascination with “mythology,” and what it means for a person to become a legend. We knew we wanted to make a “party game”-style RPG, about 45 minutes long each session. So rather than make each session epic in and of itself, we ended up focusing on the constellations and legends you create, which are saved across playthroughs.

The rich environment is lovely rendered in a well-made 8-bit style. The game is currently set at the price of $15 USD, and $20 USD with the original soundtrack.

Keep your eyes peeled for the summer release on July 12!
