Capcom is bringing Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection to Xbox on PC on November 18, adding Xbox Play Anywhere support to the turn-based RPG nearly eight months after its original release.
The announcement means players will be able to play the Xbox version across Xbox Series X|S, Windows 11 PCs and compatible handheld gaming devices at no additional cost. Save data, achievements and additional game content will carry across supported devices, allowing players to move between console and PC without losing their progress. The distinction is important because Monster Hunter Stories 3 is not making its PC debut. The game has already been available on Steam since its March 2026 release, alongside versions for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2. The November release specifically adds the game to Microsoft’s Xbox on PC ecosystem, giving the Xbox version a cross-device entitlement that the existing Steam release does not provide.
That makes the announcement particularly relevant for players who use multiple Xbox-compatible devices. A single Xbox purchase will provide access to the Xbox Series X|S and Xbox PC versions under the Play Anywhere program, with compatible saves and achievements carrying between supported devices. Microsoft’s program has increasingly become a way for players to move between Xbox consoles, Windows PCs and compatible handhelds without purchasing separate versions of the same game. The timing also coincides with the Monster Hunter Stories franchise’s 10th anniversary on October 8. As part of the celebration, Monster Hunter Stories and Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin will be available through Xbox Free Play Days from October 22 through October 25. Those older titles are part of the anniversary promotion, while the Play Anywhere announcement specifically concerns Monster Hunter Stories 3.
The move also adds another major third-party title to a Play Anywhere program that has expanded considerably during 2026. Recent Xbox coverage has highlighted growing adoption from publishers beyond Microsoft’s first-party studios, with Capcom among the publishers increasingly participating in the program. Monster Hunter Stories 3 joins Onimusha: Way of the Sword as another Capcom title receiving Play Anywhere support. For Monster Hunter Stories 3, the change is less about introducing the game to PC than about making the Xbox version portable across Microsoft’s ecosystem. Players who own the Xbox version will soon have another way to continue their adventure without purchasing a separate PC copy.
