Monster Hunter Rise Coming to Xbox and PlayStation Next January

It looks like another one of Capcom’s successful titles will be making its way to another set of home consoles. The company has announced that Monster Hunter Rise will be coming to the PlayStation and Xbox consoles on January 20, 2023. In addition, Capcom will bring the title to not only the PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/Series S, but also the previous generation in the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The expansion, Sunbreak, will also launch for the respective systems next year in Spring 2023.

This was initially leaked by post from Insider Gaming’s Tom Henderson, who mentioned all of the above information. Of course, the title will also come to Microsoft’s Game Pass, making it available to everyone who is a member of the subscription service. The PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X versions in particular will come with all of the expected bells and whistles as this was originally a Nintendo Switch title. This includes support for 4K resolution, 60 frames per second, 3D audio, and other variable customizations. The PlayStation 5’s Dual Sense controller will utilize its haptic feedback for ranged and shield weapons.

Monster Hunter Rise was one of Capcom’s most successful titles in 2021. It managed to sell more than 5 million units in the same month it launched. That number would eventually balloon to 7.5 million units year later, especially when it came to the PC platform earlier that year. As of this writing, the sales numbers are currently at 11 million for the title, and when it releases for the current generation of home consoles, those numbers will more than likely increases exponentially.

Monster Hunter Rise will release for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/Series S on January 20, 2023.
