Minecraft’s The Wild Update Announced, Coming 2022

Although the second part of the Caves and Cliffs has yet to be released, Mojang has already announced yet another update scheduled to release in 2022. This update, announced during Minecraft Live 2021, will be released right after the 1.18 Caves and Cliffs part two, which is still slated to come out this year.

In this update, Minecraft wants to expand on its existing overworld biomes, making each of them more distinct and diverse. Mojang emphasized the want to take existing biomes and make them more interesting, such as the Birch Forest biome. Known as one of Minecraft’s more bland biomes, the team wants to be able to make it more interesting, adding taller trees and all kinds of new fauna! Other new features coming to the game will include mangrove swamps, mud, fireflies, tadpoles, frogs, and much more!

This update will also include the long-anticipated Deep Dark biome, which was delayed from the second half of this year’s Caves and Cliffs update. The Deep Dark will include a new boss to the game called the Warden. It is impossible to beat the boss that players must avoid by making as little sound as possible! There will also be Deep Dark cities implemented in these biomes for players to explore. Massive in scale, these cities feature new creepy music to set players on edge as they delve deeper into the territory of the Warden. It is still unclear whether this music will be part of the biome’s ambiance or a new record for players to collect.

This Minecraft Live also announced the winner of this year’s mob vote to be the Allay. The Allay will be an interactable mob, in which players can give it an item to seek, allowing it to find similar items in the area and bring them back. It will, however, keep the item originally given to it until the player takes it back. Note blocks will be able to be assigned to the Allay as a drop-off point.

Needless to say, this update already has Minecraft fans everywhere excited. With Caves and Cliffs part two dropping later this year, life seems to be going great for Minecraft fans all around.
