Capcom has officially confirmed that Mega Man Legacy Collection and Mega Man Legacy Collection 2 will be arriving to the Nintendo Switch this May. The entire collection has a total of 10 classic games wand will be released with both digital and physical copies. The digital copy of Mega Man Legacy Collection will be available on the Nintendo eShop for $14.99 while the digital version of Mega Man Legacy Collection 2 will cost $19.99.
The physical version however will be priced at $39.99 and will have the first collection on a game card while Mega Man Legacy Collection 2 will have to be acquired through a download code which will be included. Capcom also released some information on amiibo support for the game on the Switch in an official blog post.
“If you have a regular or golden Mega Man amiibo, you’ll also gain access to eleven additional fan-made challenges [in Mega Man Legacy Collection] previously exclusive to the Nintendo 3DS version of the game and now making their console debut on Nintendo Switch,” They also commented that Mega Man Legacy Collection 2 will have “new challenges” for players to unlock with amiibo.
Not only will the collection be bringing 10 Megaman experiences to the hybrid console, it will be sporting some interesting new features along with it. The collection will be bringing a challenge mode with revamped stages that will include online leaderboards, a sound mode that will allow players to enjoy some of their favorite music from the game, and museum mode, that will show players “a plethora of rare and insightful development archives.”
