Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite Release Date Revealed

Today (April 25), Kotaku reported that Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite will being coming out on September 19 and will be available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. Also announced were several more playable characters, which include Chun-Li from Street Fighter, Chris Redfield from Resident Evil, Strider from Strider and Marvel’s Thor, Hawkeye, Hulk, Rocket Raccoon and Ultron. These new fighters join the already announced Mega Man X from Mega Man X, Morrigan from Darkstalkers, Ryu from Street Fighter and Marvel’s Captain America, Captain Marvel and Iron Man. Additionally, there will be a Character Pass DLC, which will give players access to six more characters, including the Mega Man X villain Sigma.

Speaking of Sigma, it was also revealed that in the game’s Story Mode, the main villain will be Ultron Sigma, some kind of unholy fusion between Ultron and Sigma bent on destroying all organic life forms. It is unclear as of yet whether Ultron Sigma will be a playable character or only used as an enemy in Story Mode.

The game will come in several different editions. Currently, the Standard Edition, which is just the game itself, is the only one available to pre-order and costs $60. Eventually a Deluxe Edition will be made available which will include the previously mentioned Character Pass. No price has been announced yet for the Deluxe Edition. Lastly, there will be a Collector’s Edition for $200 which includes dioramas of Iron Man, Captain Marvel, Mega Man X and Chun-Li and will also come with a case with replicas of the six infinity stones.
