League of Legends Releases Cinematic “Still Here” To Inaugurate Season 14

League of Legends has begun its 14th season with a brand-new cinematic titled “Still Here”, released alongside patch 14.1 on January 10. The cinematic features several classic League of Legends champions, including Morgana, Kayle, Aatrox, Tryndamere, Kindred, and Yasuo. Fans will notice different designs for several champions, including Yasuo and Ashe, whose outfits differ greatly from their in-game appearances.

Accompanied by epic music from Forts, Tiffany Aris, and 2WEI, frequent collaborators of Riot Games, “Still Here” depicts classic League of Legends champions in battle against enemies and each other, facing death and continuing to fight on. The cinematic takes players on a journey through time and space, exploring various time periods outside of the main setting of the game, such as the past of sisters Kayle and Morgana.

Many fans were ecstatic to see Kindred, The Eternal Hunters, featured prominently in the cinematic battling against Tryndamere, as they have never been seen in a full-length cinematic before. Fans were also pleased to see the lore of several older champions explored, as “Still Here” focuses primarily on champions released before 2014, highlighting the longevity and staying power of League of Legends in the gaming scene.

“Still Here” follows the Season 2023 cinematic, “The Brink of Infinity,” which was met with criticism last January from players disappointed with the short teaser’s lack of action and story. However, “Still Here” was met with far more positive reception, with new and long-time fans alike praising the animation, story and music.

Riot Games additionally announced a brand-new skin for Yasuo named Foreseen Yasuo inspired by his appearance in “Still Here”. Affectionately dubbed “Old Yasuo” or “Yasuold” by fans, the skin features flame and lighting effects, allowing players to recreate Yasuo’s epic battle in the cinematic.
