Krafton to Soft Launch Dark and Darker Mobile RPG in Canada This February

Krafton, Inc., a South Korean video game company known for working on titles like PUBG, PUBG Mobile, and The Callisto Protocol, announced its latest upcoming mobile game, Dark and Darker Mobile, back in November 16, 2023, during an international gaming event called G-STAR. The game will be a mobile version of Dark and Darker, a fantasy PC game developed by South Korean indie studio, IRONMACE that was gradually released to Steam in 2023.

Like Dark and Darker, Dark and Darker Mobile will feature elements of dungeon crawling, PvPvE combat, and survival mechanics. This dark fantasy extraction shooter introduces players to dungeons filled with traps, monsters, and treasures that all work together to create a medieval-inspired atmosphere. While exploring these dungeons, players will be thrown into combat with fellow players and AI-controlled enemies. Their goal is to gather loot and extract successfully before being killed. Dark and Darker Mobile offers a class system with fighters, rogues, wizards, and clerics, each of which have different effects on gameplay.

Dark and Darker Mobile announced its upcoming soft launch today via a post on the game’s official X (formerly Twitter) account. The post calls forth all “adventurers,” informing them that the game’s soft launch is set to begin in Canada next month on February 2. It concludes by telling players “we’ll be waiting for you in the dungeons,” and link to the game’s official discord is provided for anyone interested in following its development over time. The post’s fantasy themed graphic image features three adventurers, possibly a wizard, fighter, and cleric, who face forward as a menacing ogre-like creature roars in the background.

Anyone interested in trying out Dark and Darker Mobile can currently pre-register via the App Store, Google Play Store, or the game’s official website. Krafton has not announced an official release date as of yet, but the App Store lists the game as releasing on February 16, 2025, though this may be subject to change.

While many video games are available only to those who can afford expensive consoles and computers, mobile games are designed for the average person.
