Kingdom Hearts 3 Re:Mind DLC Fully Revealed

E3 2019 was full of big news and announcements this year. Japanese developer Square Enix particularly gained a lot of attention with their display of their upcoming RPG Final Fantasy VII Remake. But another big development that came from the company was the reveal of the anticipated Kingdom Hearts III paid DLC installment Re:Mind. Square Enix revealed that they will be bringing post launch content in the form of free small updates and larger chunks of content that would be paid DLC. With Critical Mode already released for the game in a free update this DLC is a much bigger and will cost players this time around.

A trailer was shown that for the content that shows off cutscenes, gameplay segments, and and other playable characters that aren’t included within the base game. The trailer opens with a mysterious hooded figure (either the Master of Masters or Luxu) and a young Master Xeahnort conversing in the keyblade graveyard. The is no speech within the trailer only text shown of some of the words that characters are speaking.

After that scene gameplay is shown of Riku, Aqua, and Roxas within the keyblade graveyard. All of the characters are seen being used during boss battles with members of Organization XIII. It is unclear on whether these characters are able to be controlled outside of these boss battles. After that Sora is shown with a keyblade new to the game but familiar to the series the Oathkeeper which also has a new form change as well.

The final scenes for the trailer are Luxord and Xigbar (revealed to be Luxu) questioning each other’s real identity. This addition of content seems to deepen the lore to the story and give players a fresh perspective on boss previous boss fights in the story by allowing them to play as other main characters throughout the series. The Re:Mind DLC does not yet have a firm release date but is slated to come out sometime this winter.
