Announced during Gamescon 2019, Iron Harvest is an RTS game set few years after 1920 following the world’s first great war. Deep Silver Games and KING Art Games has announced that the beta is an official “pre-season” to the official release of the game, with the developers keeping an eye on bugs, crashes, and error reports. Pre-season content includes a short peek at the single-player campaign, co-op skirmish and challenge modes, and multiplayer for up to 6 players. A short description of the story is available on the game’s page as well, “At the dawn of the 20th century, shortly after the end of the Great War, the world is full of secrets and mysteries, of opportunities and challenges. Tradition clashes with scientific and technological progress, while Europe is still recovering from the brutal battles of the World War. Iron Harvest is a real-time strategy game (RTS) set in the alternate reality of 1920+, just after the end of the Great War.”
King Art Games has announced that the beta for Iron Harvest will continue through August, ending with the Iron Harvest Pre-Season Tournament starting on August 8th. There will be four different tournaments taking place throughout August that players can register for, with winners receiving Iron Harvest: Collector’s Editions, €350(about $450), and an invitation to the tournament finals that will take place during Gamescom from August 27th-30th. More information about the tournament can be found on the Iron Harvest ESL Play website, which will be updated as the tournaments progress.
The developers have also announced that during the beta and tournament, they will be updating the game to apply patches and fix found bugs. Iron Harvest is set to officially release on September 1st of this year on Steam, GOG, and the Epic Games Store, with a console release planned for early 2021. Pre-orders, along with news about the beta and special content, can be found on the KING Art Games website.
