As of now, officially licensed Halo facemasks are available for sale with the proceeds going towards helping frontline workers as they help battle the COVID-19 pandemic (more specifically towards the Masks for Docs Foundation). Along with the proceeds going towards helping, the company behind the facemasks, Meta Threads, had recently stated that they will also be donating two facemasks to COVID-19 responders for every single facemask purchased.
As stated on the website the facemasks are also FDA approved, reusable, feature an aluminum nose part, washable by hand or by machine, and currently $20 USD. These masks are simple green cloth masks with the Halo logo and branding on the front. For those that are interested in buying the masks, the website highlights that it would take three days minimum to ship out.
This announcement came earlier today on the official Halo Twitter account, stating that “a Spartan is always prepared.” Along with this line, the tweet also specifies that the masks are apart of a Microsoft partnered campaign (with Meta Threads) called the ” #GamersMasks4Mask campaign,” which works to provide medical volunteers with the right protective equipment needed to help with the coronavirus pandemic.
As this is not the first time Microsoft and the Halo franchise moved to help out with the pandemic, this is certainly the most recent act of donations. In early April, Halo also raised money through the “H5 Recovery and Relief REQ pack”, which also a past partnership with the company Meta Threads.
In other and most recent Halo news, however, the highly anticipated Halo Infinite, which was supposed to be coming out around the time of the Xbox Series X, was delayed to 2021 due to complications with the pandemic. While many fans are disappointed with this news, many others showed their support in the original Tweet highlighting the facemasks and where they would be going to.
