Gundam Versus Headed to The PS4 in America and Europe This Fall

In a glorious turn of events, Bandai Namco has made the decision to bring Gundam Versus to the Playstation 4 here in America as well as Europe. While not coming out until fall of 17, they chose to release an announcement trailer a few days ago to show off some gameplay.

Gundam is a decently known series in which players take control of giant robots and use them to compete in one on one battles. Gundam Versus will make its way to the Playstation 4 and be the first in the series to do so, even being “built from the ground up” just for the PS4 system. “Battle in explosive online two-versus-two and three-versus-three team battles in this all-new title built from the ground up for the PlayStation 4 system.”

The game will offer players over 90 different mobile suits that will span across more than 35 years worth of history within the series. Each suit will come equipped with its own weapons system to “learn and master song with new mobility options that allow for advanced strategy to evade and outwit opponents”.

When actually fighting in battles, players will be able to perform fast melee attacks in a variety of different online and offline game modes. The new game will also bring new quick actions that will allow players the opportunity for more strategic gameplay. Players will also have their choice of which Burst System they want; Blaze gear or Lightning gear, “each with their fighting characteristics that enhance melee combat, augment lock-on range and more!”

Eric Hartness, Vice President of marketing at Bandai Namco, had this to say about the game, “For more than 35 years the Mobile Suit Gundam franchise has fostered a highly engaged and energetic community. We are excited to release Gundam Versus to those fans eager for more Mobile Suit Gundam releases in the West, as well as introducing the franchise a brand new expanded audience.”
