Gravity Circuit 2 Has Been Announced for 2027

Many of the oldest retro gaming series follow a trend of focusing on one character and move set in the first game before branching out in later games to expand the cast and gameplay options. When it released in 2023, Gravity Circuit did many things to adapt trends from classic console titles such as the Mega Man series into a cohesive experience in the modern day. Today, Domesticated Ant Games shared that one of the key features of the game’s sequel will be a new playable character, along with many more improvements to see as the robotic story continues.

Along with the recently created Steam page, an announcement trailer for Gravity Circuit 2 was also put out, showing the main characters, Gravity and Power Circuit, responding to an alert by jumping into an action platforming gauntlet. Both focuses are given a heavy spotlight in the trailer, with the energy rope being used to traverse rooms with a dangerous floor while rising bubbles are used in another area. To combat the enemies, the characters are able to attack at range or up close just like the original game, mixing in counters and special moves.

The story will see Kai joined by Cable, the Power Circuit in order to stop a new threat coming from the skies after their victory over the Virus Army. To defeat the new Hunter Army, players will need to pass through over a dozen stages and face eight Hunter Circuits, a familiar formula of combining stages and bosses. The game will also feature a new hub area where players can interact with NPCs and even vendors.

Many games take inspiration directly from beloved indie titles, offering an interesting glimpse into what other games might look like if the history of game development had gone differently. Now, the Gravity Circuit games have an opportunity to iterate on themselves, leaving many fans interested in the game’s release in 2027 for console and PC.
