Microsoft’s latest E3 conference was packed full of announcements. A few notable ones were the reveal of three different additions to the Gears franchise. Microsoft revealed Gears Pop, Gears Tactics and of course, they finally confirmed the highly anticipated Gears 5. Gears Pop and Gears Tactics are a different take for the series as they are mobile titles that are more suitable for younger players. However, Gears 5 was revealed in a huge fashion and aims to be the biggest, most brutal entry into the franchise to date.
During the presentation we got our first look at protagonist for this sequel, who was revealed to be Kait Diaz, and she will be making a return after her supporting role within Gears of War 4. The trailer also touched upon the deep plot of the game, and with The Coalition stating that the setting for Gears 5 will be the biggest and most beautiful world they have ever created, it seems as players will have a lot to look forward to within this entry.
Since the big reveal the the developer seems to be teasing even more news about the game. Earlier today the Gears of War official Twitter account tweeted out screenshot which included a brand new character named Fahz Chutani (left). Chutani also seems to be holding a new weapon within the picture which appears to be a updated version of the iconic Lancer rifle.
This image has gained a lot of attention and it is currently unknown if there will anymore screenshots shown anytime soon. But it seems like the studio is ready to start sharing a little bit more about the title. Gears 5 is currently set to be releasing sometime next year for Xbox One.
