Friday The 13th Reveals First Look at Single Player Challenges

Friday The 13th developers have been working on adding more single player elements to the survival horror game for some time now. Offline play was introduced late last year, and now they’ve cooked up another challenge for players who want to stay offline.

Yesterday players got their first look at single player challenges. The video was released on Twitter and shows off a development build of some of the new content. The player, as Jason, approaches a couple of unsuspecting teens who have hit the horror movie trifecta of car trouble, at night, in the woods. True to the genre they both meet a unique and grisly end.

Once they have, the video ends and the demo is over. Unfortunately there isn’t much else to the preview in terms of what different challenges might look like.

While offline added some new elements to the game and more options for players, it was not a substitute for a full single player mode. These single player challenges could mean that developers are planning on heading in that direction. Online play is being improved as well. A major engine update is coming to the game and along with it, dedicated servers should finally ease some players connection complaints.

Good news is this update will be coming to players free of cost. No word yet on when exactly this new content will be available to players, but developers will surely keep interested players informed as the mode progresses through development.

While you wait, be sure to check out the double XP weekend going on now until Monday. For now, you can see Jason’s bloody new kills in the full video below.
