Fortnite recently launched their latest season as well as their new subscription service, Fortnite Crew. However they aren’t done yet, the Fortnite Team is adding new Limited Time Mode to the game. These modes are events that feature new rules and mechanics for a limited time only. The latest event is The Spy Within LTM which is suspiciously similar to Among Us. This new mode allows players to take a more stealthy approach to the Battle Royale. With this new mode, players will also be able to video chat during the game.
So how do play The Spy Within? The Fortnite Crew breaks down the rules for players on the Epic Games website. Similar to Among Us, players start the game only knowing the team they are on. There are two spies per match and they have to eliminate the rest of the players while the crew has objectives. For the crew members, known as the Agents, to win, they must collect gold coins earned by their objectives. Communication is only allowed during meetings where they decide who the spies are. This game concept may ring a bell for players who are fans of Among Us, Fortnite has a way of incorporating popular themes into their game every few weeks.
However, Fortnite steps the game up with voice chat and the option to do video chat as well. To video chat during The Spy Within, players can use Fortnite‘s Houseparty setting. The Fortnite Team does not give an expiration date to this LTM. Players who complete the challenge pack will be able to unlock the event exclusive state deck variant and more.
Fortnite‘s newest season began on December 2 and the game will be ready to launch on Xbox Series X|S and PS5 next week. The team also gives FPS and other graphic tips for next-gen console players as well.
