Fallout 4: Game of the Year Edition Release Date Announced

Bethesda has announced has announced the upcoming release of Fallout 4’s Game of the Year Edition, an all-encompassing edition of the 2015 post-apocalyptic open world game, almost two years after its initial launch.

As expected, this edition includes every add-on released for the game since 2015: Wasteland Workshop, Automatron, Far Harbor, Contraptions Workshop, Vault-Tec Workshop, and Nuka World. It’s also going to include all subsequent patches, graphical enhancements, and gameplay updates to Fallout 4. This includes the addition of mod support on consoles and Survival mode: a unique gameplay difficulty setting that downgraded the old “survival mode” incarnation to “very hard.

Accompanying this announcement, Bethesda has also reported that the highly coveted “Pip-Boy Edition” of Fallout 4 will also be making its return. At the time of Fallout 4’s 2015 launch, the game’s collector’s edition sold out time and time again, to the point where Bethesda could not manufacture any more. This edition will include Fallout 4: Game of the Year Edition, a Pip-Boy replica, pocket guide, and perk poster.

Fallout 4 is the Fallout series’ fifth highly anticipated installment, released on November 10, 2015. The game takes place in the post-nuclear wastelands of Boston and its surrounding areas, referred to as “The Commonwealth.” Taking place in 2287, ten years after the events of Fallout 3, players take on the persona of the Sole Survivor of Vault 111 and make their mark of the Commonwealth for better or worse.

The standard version of Fallout 4: Game of the Year Edition will be available for $59.99, and the Pip-Boy Edition is currently priced at $99.99. Both editions of the game are set for release on September 26th, 2017.

In my free time, I function as an unnecessarily specific gaming encyclopedia. I also play the violin, binge crime/detective procedural shows (still not sure why), and do a large amount of digital painting. I'm probably too attached to Dragon Age, but not really inclined to do anything about it. I'm a huge fan of cosplay, foxes, the prose of Jenny Lawson, and Strong Female Characters™.
