E3 2021: Xbox Shows off More Halo Infinite Campaign and Multiplayer First Look

During the Xbox conference, Halo Infinite‘s Head of Creative Joseph Staten came on stage to show another look at the game. Staten introduced a short teaser of the campaign before a look at multiplayer was shown off. No official release date was given aside from “this holiday.”

The short campaign teaser showed Master Chief running through a ship that has exploded as Cortana talks to him in his head. Chief then comes across a new unnamed AI that mentions she and Chief were suppose to recover and then delete Cortana since she has gone rouge. Though Cortana has supposedly been deleted, neither the AI and Chief were the ones to do it. Deciding something has gone wrong as the new AI was suppose to be deleted upon Cortana’s deletion, Chief decides they must continue the mission as he attaches the new AI into his helmet. Unfortunately, we did not get another look at gameplay in the campaign.

Multiplayer, which will be standalone and free to play, showed off a variety of new Spartan armor sets and new maps in the game. There was also new abilities such as weapons automatically coming to you when you kill another player. A more in depth look at multiplayer is set to be revealed tomorrow.

Halo Infinite is set to release this holiday on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. You can check out the new look at Halo Infinite below:

Avid believer that video games present the best storytelling opportunities out of any media, and that needs to be conveyed. Former competitive Pokemon player. Attended university to study game development. Wouldn't be who I am today without games.
