Developer Resolution Games have announced that their cooperative multiplayer tactical role-playing game Demeo x Dungeons & Dragons: Battlemarked will launch later this year. Gematsu reports that the title will be released on PlayStation 5, PlayStation VR2, PC, SteamVR, and Quest.
Demeo x Dungeons & Dragons: Battlemarked is set in the Forgotten Realms campaign, focused on the enchanted Neverwinter Wood and the north. You will assume the role of an adventurer in one of the iconic D&D classes. Your goal is to unravel the conspiracies threatening the north and prevent the ensuing chaos from consuming the land.
Resolution Games founder and CEO Tommy Palm in a press release said “While the world of Demeo is rich with lore, our previous titles focus primarily on tactical action over motivation and narrative,” and that “With Dungeons & Dragons, story is just as important as combat, so we’ve rebalanced our approach to make sure we can deliver more of it. With the addition of dramatic cut scenes, richer dialogue, and deeper player choices, Battlemarked truly marks the start of the next iteration of the Demeo Action Roleplaying System.
The title is built upon the ‘Demeo Action Roleplaying System’ that simulates a tabletop experience with figures, grid based movement, card-abilities and dice rolls. Demeo x Dungeons and Dragons also features a cooperative, tactical turn-based combat system. The title also features cross-platform support between all its version variants. Players can play cooperatively with up to three friends or command a full party yourself in solo.
Resolution Games aims to merge Demeo’s acclaimed tactical systems with dungeons and dragons narrative direction and style. With the removal of a dungeon master, and heavy emphasis on social strategy, the team aims to build on their previous works. Fans of strategy titles and Dungeon and Dragons have found themselves in good company.
