As of today, Death Stranding is now available on PC via Steam and the Epic Games store. The release date for the PC port was pushed back after a temporary closure of Kojima Productions. The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic forced developers to work from home which threw a wrench in things a bit. The game is now out, and 505 Games has released a launch trailer to give players a taste of Death Stranding’s PC experience. It includes gameplay and cutscene footage while remaining pretty much spoiler free.
The trailer showcases the games 4k graphics and Ultrawide support. It also highlights how the PC version improves on certain aspects of the original console version of the game. The PC port includes a new difficulty, “Very Hard”, which is also featured in the trailer. Fans get a sneak peak of the new Half-Life collaborative items, which developers have been pretty discreet about until now. The PC release date trailer did include a small clip of wearing a Headcrab at the end though.
Tommie Earl Jenkins, voice of Die-Hardman, shared a tweet to celebrate and promote the games PC release. When a user responded to ask about sequel rumors, he responded that he hadn’t heard anything about potential sequel but he would love to be apart of it. Hideo Kojima, founder of Kojima Productions, sparked sequel rumors when he tweeted out a new concept with Kojima Productions art director Yoji Shinkawa, that included a vehicle with a “BRIDGES” logo on the side. “BRIDGES” is the company that the main character, Sam, works for. Whether these are actual signs or just wishful thinking remains to be seen.
