Dead Space Remake Livestream Teased, Slated for Later This Week

It’s been a while since we last bout the Dead Space Remake. Not a lot of new information has surfaced since the livestream from last September, where we got a glimpse of how the game will look and play. It looks like developer Motive Studios is ready to offer some new information as they recently teased another livestream on their Twitter account. They also linked a YouTube page with a very short teaser that only shows a moving camera shot that ends with an encounter with a necromorph. The video’s page offers a little more explanation, as well as a supposed date for the livestream, March 11, which is later this week.

The short trailer also has an extremely brief look at the main protagonist Isaac Clarke, but other than the eerie sound effects it doesn’t reveal much else. In the trailer’s description, it states that this will be “early looks at development and what goes into the remake of a game.” Considering that the title was only revealed in the middle of last year, it’s no big surprise that the Dead Space Remake is still a ways off before we have any sort of concrete release date. At the very least we may see some new gameplay, or some new information on what major differences there will be between this and the original 2008 release.

Dead Space Remake was initially revealed during the EA Play Live 2021 So far what we know about the remake is that is meant to “reinvigorate” the franchise. Motive Studio also revealed that the game will be using the Frostbite Engine, which is predominantly used by D.I.C.E., another studio in the EA umbrella and the primary developer of the Battlefield franchise. Everything else is still up in the air, but if these recent trailers and livestreams are any indication, the studio appears to be trying to bring the series back to its horror roots, which is what made it so popular in the first place. The Dead Space Remake livestream will commence on Friday, March 11 at 10:00 AM PT / 1:00 PM ET.
