Cyberpunk 2077 Tie-In Comic Will Debut Before Launch

Despite Cyberpunk 2077 being delayed until November 19th, CD Projekt Red has now announced that a comic mini-series based in the same universe as the game will debut on September 9th. It’s titled Cyberpunk 2077: Trauma Team, with volume 1 of the series comprising of 4 issues. Issue 1 is 32 pages long and costs just $4; the complete volume 1 will be available on February 9th.

The story follows Nadia, a former assistant EMT for Trauma Team International corporation who lives in Night City. A botched recuse turned shootout resulted in her being the only survivor, as she sets on an extraction mission with her new team. They quickly begin to discover that Trauma Team International is not what they thought it was, the summary reads “After she agrees to continue work for an upcoming extraction mission, Nadia and her new team find themselves in an even more dangerous and life-threatening situation.” The extraction subject is Apex, the same man responsible for the death of Nadia’s former team members. She must execute the mission a hundred floors high in a skyscraper filled with Apex’s rival gang members.

The mini-series is being published by Dark Horse Comics, the same publisher behind The Umbrella Academy and Stranger Things comics. Cullen Bunn is listed as the writer of the story and credited for the Harrow CountyUncanny X-Men ebook. Miguel Valderamma is listed as both artist and cover artist and credited for his work on the comic book Giants written by Carlos Perez Valderamma.
