Creator Of Spider-Man Into The Spiderverse Has Already Seen Spider-Man: Miles Morales Game

The PlayStation 5 Future Of Gaming event has come and gone, and with it, a number of incredible new, remade, and remastered games were revealed for Sony’s next-generation console. Arguably, one of the most notable reveals besides the Demon’s Souls Remastered announcement trailer was the reveal of Insomniac Games’ newest game, Marvel’s Spider-Man Miles Morales. While many fans of the Spider-Man series may have been filled with awe and shock at the reveal of this game, one person already knew this was coming. The creative mind behind the 2018 Oscar-winning film Spider-Man Into The Spider-Verse, Phil Lord was fully aware that this game was in development. Yesterday, Phil Lord retweeted the reveal trailer with a comment stating that he had already seen what Insomniac Games had been developing back in 2019.

Although he didn’t reveal much about what he and likely a few other unknown Spider-Verse filmmakers saw, Phil Lord has assured gamers and long time fans of the Spider-Man video game series that what Insomniac is cooking up is incredible stating “…it’s special. They’re special.” Coming from the creator of the movie Spider-Man Into the Spider-Verse, that is rather high praise. The trailer itself gives players a snapshot of what they will eventually experience, showing Miles swinging from web to web, saving lives, fighting villains, and using his various abilities. Although many were likely filled with shock, awe, and excitement at this reveal, there has been some slight confusion over whether this game was a remaster or enhancement of Marvel’s Spider-Man, however, it has been clarified that the game is a stand-alone experience.

Little more is known about the game, but Spider-Man: Miles Morales will be a PlayStation 5 exclusive, and will be released during Holiday 2020.
