Control Revealed By 505 Games

Control is a supernatural action RPG played in third person. 505 games revealed this title at E3 2018 and were nice enough to show off a closed demo to us. The game is set within the Federal Bureau of Control. The protagonist is Jesse Fadden who is the new Director of the FBC. Faden possess telekinetic powers which allow her to create temporary shields, levitate, draw objects to her as well as hurl objects at enemies. In addition to her astounding abailites she also sports a a special “Director’s Pistol” which can only be wielded by her.

The pistol itself had a very interesting design. It is made up of many parts and breaks down and rearranges during combat at the player’s discretion. 505 also commented that both Faden’s powers and the Director’s Pistol will both be customizable and upgradable with different abilities throughout the game. However, they didn’t state what other kind of moves or attachments will lie ahead. As for the enemies Faden will be pitted against other employees of the FBC that have been corrupted by the HISS, a mysterious and sinister organization.

The environment in the game isn’t completely destructible but the developer has kept in mind about what aspects should be destructible and what will be ideal for dealing the most damage and providing the best cover for players within each level. There will also be side missions available that players can choose whether or not to partake in in between main missions.

These missions will be given by distinct and memorable characters. there are more exploration aspects as oposed to the more linear aspects of the publisher’s previous titles. 505 Games stated that some of the characters will be welcome as others will be hostile. Control s still heavily under development and the team is currently working on all existing aspects of the game.
