CD Projekt Red Confirms Cyberpunk 2077 Won’t be Playable at E3

Last year, CD Projekt Red “hijacked” the end of the Microsoft press conference at E3 to rereveal their next game, Cyberpunk 2077. Now, the studiois set to return to E3 this year along with their highly anticipated title much to eager fans’ delight. However, Marcin Momot, CD Projekt Red’s Global Community Lead, has confirmed that, unfortunately, the public won’t be able to get their hands on the game during the event.

While this will be a disappointment to some, the studio will still showcase the game to the public and in behind closed door events to the press. In response to a fan, Momot would even state that there will be differences between what is shown publicly and what is show behind closed doors. This will be different from last year as the studio debuted trailer for the game during Microsoft’s press conference, but kept the gameplay demo behind closed doors. It wasn’t until a few months later that the studio revealed the gameplay demo to the public via Twitch.

While it is currently unknown exactly what CD Projekt Red will show from the game at E3, they have stated that this E3 will be very important to them. Earlier this year, the studio confirmed that Cyberpunk 2077 still had a ways to go in development. Recently, with crunch culture being highlighted across the industry, the studio has stated that they are taking more humane approach to the development of the game. If development is going well, hopefully CD Projekt Red hints at a release window or maybe even a planned release date for the game.
