During a surprise reveal at the end of Capcom Cup 2017, the company announced six new characters for Street Fighter V. The characters that are coming in this third season of content are some familiar faces as well as a couple new comers that are joining the mix. The characters that are returning to the battle are Sakura, Cody, Sagat and Blanka. The all new fighters are G a bearded male character and Falke a new female character that may have some connection to Ed.
This announcement was a big surprise to fans due to the fact that Capcom usually reveals characters one at a time. Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition will release on January 16, 2018 and Sakura will be available from the initial time of launch. You can get a look at Sakura in the trailer shown below.
The character will be included with story, battles, her own stage; the Kasugano Residence and other nostalgia costumes for her. Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition is will be available for Playstation 4 and PC and will be updated with all the post content from season 1, season 2, and many changes to gameplay. Although we know the release date for Sakura the release dates for the other characters are currently a mystery.
The Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection was also announced during the Capcom Cup. The collection will include Street Fighter, Street Fighter 2, Street Fighter 3: Third Strike, and Street Fighter Alpha 3 and is expected to launch for Playstation 4, Xbox One, PC, and the Nintendo Switch on May 2018.
