Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare II Officially Revealed, Set To Release On October 28, 2022

Today, this year’s Call of Duty title was officially revealed. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II is a follow-up to the Modern Warfare reboot that was released back in 2019. Modern Warfare II is set to release on October 28, 2022, for PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One. It will feature Task Force 141’s next global campaign, immersive, world-class multiplayer, and an evolved Special Ops experience all with carefully crafted gameplay and technical innovations that will introduce fans to the new era of Call of Duty.

In addition to the campaign, this year’s Call of Duty will rollout with the all-new Call of Duty Warzone 2.0, an all-new mobile experience that will bring Call of Duty: Warzone on the go, one unified engine across both Modern Warfare II and Warzone 2.0, RICOCHET Anti-Cheat which will release on day one of Modern Warfare II and the new Warzone, and Call of Duty coming back to Steam on PC with Modern Warfare II.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II follows Task Force 141 and the group faces its greatest threat yet – a newly aligned meance with deep, yet unknown, connections. Familar heroes such as Kyle “Gaz” Garrick, Simon “Ghost” Riley, John “Soap” MacTavish, and Team Leader Captain John Price return along with new characters such as the newest member of Task Force 141, Colonel Alejandro Vargas, an incorruptible Tier 1 Operator and member of the Mexican Special Forces. The campaign will feature offshore sieges with underwater combat, all-out explosive assaults from 30,000 feet above enemy strongholds, and high-stakes, low-profile stealth missions in plain sight and under the cover of darkness. Missions will take place over the world including Europe, Asia, and the Americas.

The new evolved Special Ops is a tactical co-op mode that will advance players’ team-building skills and sets the stage for multiplayer. Multiplayer in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II will feature new ways to play and numerous gameplay innovations including a revamped Gunsmith that will offer more customization than ever before. The game’s post-release calendar is set to include a massive amount of free post-launch content drops that will feature new maps, modes, and blockbuster special events that can’t be missed.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II will be the most advanced Call of Duty in history with stunningly realistic sound, lighting, and graphics. The new entry will feature a physically based material system allowing for state-of-the-art photogrammetry, a new hybrid tile-based streaming system, a new PBR decal rendering system, world volumetric lighting, 4K HDR, as well as a new geometry pipeline. The game also features a new advanced AI system so enemies and friendlies alike so they will act tactically using combat and cover maneuvering techniques that would be second nature to a Tier 1 Operator.

The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II Vault Edition is the highest-tier version of the game and costs $99.99. The Vault Edition features Red Team 141, four playable multiplayer Operators – Ghost, Farah, Price, and Soap; FJX Cinder Weapon Vault, the Season 1 battle pass and 50 Tier skips, the Ghost Legacy Pack which includes 20+ free items for Modern Warfare (2019) and Warzone, and 10 hours Double XP Tokens and 10 hours Double Weapon XP Tokens at launch.

The Cross-Gen Bundle offers flexibility both in terms of potential upgrades and platform availability. There are also physical console versions available to purchase. There is a Cross-Gen Bundle for the Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One, a Cross-Gen version for PlayStation 4, or a next-gen version for PlayStation 5. The PlayStation 5 version does not include a PlayStation 4 version of the game. All three versions cost $69.99.
