Many Genshin Impact players are enjoying the recent 1.2 update which introduced a new exploration region to the south of Mondstadt called Dragonspine as well as The Chalk Prince and the Dragon event which is still ongoing. However, some are still upset over the playable Geo character Zhongli, who was released in the 1.1 update. Many point out that he is relatively weak for a five-star character. Recently, developers miHoYo responded to players’ complaints saying that there will be buffs coming to his character soon.
Zhongli, who was a part of the last event banner, is a five-star Geo character which means that he should be very powerful. Yet, many players complain that Zhongli, without any of his constellations unlocked, is a low-tier character. And it is difficult to unlock his constellations because players would need to repeatedly pull him which is complicated since five-star characters are incredibly rare. Compared to other five-star characters who are strong even at their base abilities, Zhongli needs to be heavily upgraded before he proves useful. The developers, miHoYo have responded to these complaints and increased his stats to both help as a single attacker and as well as during Geo resonance. There also seems to be some aesthetic changes to Zhongli’s attacks as well.
… We have made a further adjustment to Zhongli that increases his functionality as a support character while also improving his performance in Geo parties, non-Geo parties, and Co-Op scenarios.
This adjustment will be implemented on a 1.3 test server on December 29, letting miHoYo track how these new adjustments are working as well as listening to players’ feedback.
Genshin Impact is currently available now on the App Store, Google Play, PC, and PS4. It is also currently in development for PS5 and Nintendo Switch.
