Bethesda Teams Up with Xbox Insider for Fallout 76 Stress Test

Are you chomping at the bit to get back to the Wasteland? Depending on your platform of choice, your wait may have just gotten shorter. Bethesda announced today that they are teaming up with Xbox Insider to allow a select bunch of Xbox One players who have already pre-ordered Fallout 76 to be some of the first to “break it earlier.”

Bethesda says the Fallout 76 Stress Test will be a timed event where players will have access to an early version of the full game in order to work out the kinks before the beta launches on October 23 (Xbox One,) and October 30 (PS4 and PC.) Both the stress test and the beta will only be available for those who have pre-ordered the game.

A notable difference between the stress test and the beta is that the former will require participants to agree to a non-disclosure agreement. Any player who streams the stress test or otherwise posts any content, such as screencaps, will be removed from future Fallout 76 events.

Xbox Insiders who have pre-ordered Fallout 76 on Xbox One will know if they have been selected for the test by opening the Xbox Insider Hub app (available in the Xbox Games Store) and checking for “Fallout 76 Stress Test” within the Insider Content tab. If it pops up, you’re in! Click join, dust off your power armor, and get to exploring the Wasteland!

The Fallout Stress test will be available starting October 13, though no start time or end date has been announced yet. The stress test will only be available to selected users on Xbox One, that have pre-ordered the game, have an active Xbox Live Gold account, and are in North America.
