Arjun Expands Into Street Fighter 6 With a New Gameplay Trailer and an October 13th Release Date

I think that’s the first time I’ve seen a character trailer start with a low crush. Arjun, the second of Street Fighter 6’s Season 4 DLC characters, has officially had his gameplay reveal trailer:

Sadly, Arjun is less silly than the concept art we were given suggested. Sure he inflates his bodyparts to perform different moves but he’s much more morose and serious in his quotes and attitude than you’d think, with a backstory revolving around the murder of his partner and his being falsely accused of said murder; he doesn’t puff himself up and shout “Balloon!” like many people were assuming.

Arjun has a pretty varied gameplay style, which you can read the details of in the Steam blog post going over his moveset. The key takeaways are that Arjun, as you can probably assume from his stature, is on the slower end. He makes up for this by dealing damage on block via grey health, which is an interesting approach to a Street Fighter 6 character as grey health, a form of chip, is generally discouraged overall outside of burnout and thank God Arjun isn’t another stock character.

The most eye-catching mechanic from the trailer is definitely Arjun’s Divine Pillar, which summons a spire of stone from the ground that Arjun can grab to extend his combos and pressure should he shoulder charge into it.

There’s also Arjun’s Indomitable Defense stance, which armors Arjun through projectiles and counterattacks strikes. It’s very reminiscent of Zangief’s Iron Body from Street Fighter 5, which is a point of criticism against Arjun so far. Online opinions seem to vary between saying his model looks odd and low quality and his moveset recycled, but well, any update to Street Fighter 6 is cause for at least a bit of celebration despite the concerns raised.

Arjun will release in full for Street Fighter 6 on October 13th, 2026!
