This involved adapting said media into a form that could be played and enjoyed. In the modern era of gaming, this can often bring new life and quality to the setting, such as the world of Gaia with the upcoming Anima: Song from the Abyss. Developed by Anima Project and published by Anima Publishing, the game seeks to take players to the world of Anima: Beyond Fantasy RPG table-top books with a new story. The game recently received a new trailer showing off new footage and giving a release window.
Anima: Song from the Abyss will see players control two separate characters in an RPG adventure. The official website explains that the lives of these two characters were never meant to cross, leaving the consequences as the central focus of the story while they explore an ancient civilization. They will eventually become tasked with discovering how the civilization fell in the first place along with stopping the rest of the world from falling in the same way.
The trailer gives players a good look at the gameplay that Anima: Song from the Abyss will offer on release. Each character fights a variety of enemies, from simple foes that players can land air combos on for massive damage, to larger enemies with patterns players are meant to dodge. Later on, the two characters are shown switches seamlessly between one another, allowing attacks using both the scythe and the sword to be strung together. At the end, both characters are shown standing together against a massive dark beast.
Anima: Song from the Abyss promises to provide fans of the world of Anima: Beyond Fantasy a new way to experience it, along with a new story to play out. It is set to release in 2027 on console and PC.
