Burn With Me, another game chosen for Thinky Direct 2026, published its demo and an accompanying gameplay trailer, yesterday. Burn With Me’s demo, created by Nozomu Games, can be found on Steam. The trailer was showcased on Thinky Direct 2026, and uploaded to Thinky Direct’s YouTube Channel, the game was also featured on Thinky Direct’s website.
Burn With Me’s gameplay trailer showcases a summoning. A match is lit, and used to light five candles on a red pentagram, as an incantation occurs. The player then decides which “imp to summon,” this imp is placed in the middle of the pentagram. A hand swipes and reveals 7 cards in hand, each with different numbers on them, additionally some cards have no abilities while some have the ability to add points or allow players to “draw 1 card.” The cards are counted by a red test tube with a number above, that the player seemingly needs to gain. Once the number on top of the tube is reached or surpassed, the hand swipes and all the cards come to rest, the imp in the middle of the summoning circle might become a card, with a special ability.
There are multiple imps to summon, each with different abilities, through the card deck, players choose the cards till the numbers reach the summoning requirement. However some picks lead to destruction as summoning “Gallus” in the trailer leads to an explosion and death. In a pleasant surprise, there’s actually the ability to burn cards in the game, as the hand destroys one of the 7 cards. There are also stones with rune looking carvings on them that may be connected to the burning. In the last summoning, the burnt cards, cards played and a hammer that’s connected to a flame system, move three pieces of the inscribed rocks to their places. One key factor is the hammer breaks the test tube that counts the card numbers, and that action causes the last of the rock pieces to fit in place, the trailer ends on this note. With so many elements unrevealed, Burn With Me seems like one to watch out, for card game lovers.
