Amazon Delays the Release of Their Anticipated Game, New World

With Amazon becoming one of the biggest platforms in media, they have stretched their horizon within the video game world. One of the video games that was going to be their anticipated game yet was New World. But in recent news, Amazon Game Studios have announced earlier today that they will be delaying their massive multiplayer online game New World to spring 2021. This will be the second delay this year where Amazon pushed the game back from their original launch in May to August 25th. The Studio Director at Amazon Game Studios, Rich Lawrence, made a statement early Friday that the developers had to delay New World to 2021 based on feedback and the team’s desire to create additional late-game content for the MMO.

On the official New World website, the Studio Director states, “When we examined the feedback we received over the last several months from our Alpha audience, we saw that players like the game and they would like to see even more of it. In particular, we want to ensure that the most dedicated players have plenty of middle and endgame experiences as they venture through Aeternum. We want our players to feel completely immersed in the game, and know that our studio stands for quality and lasting gameplay you can trust – and that means added time to get things where we wanted them before we fully released.”

He continues, “We don’t make the decision lightly, and we have urgency about getting the game to you as quickly as possible at the best quality – with some additions that will make the experience even better.”

With the decision from the Amazon Game Studios team, they wanted to explain to their fans that they are passionate about the game they’ve been making and wanted to add more features and content for their fans to play. So with all these changes happening in the game players will be pleased once New World comes out for all to enjoy in its entirety. New World will be released in Spring of 2021.
