Aksys Games will release Bounty Sisters for Nintendo Switch in North America this fall. The vertical scrolling shoot ’em up is developed by PiXEL and first launched for Nintendo Switch in Japan on December 18, 2025. A PC version via Steam is also planned, but a release date has not been announced. The North American announcement was made during Aksys Games’ Anime Expo 2026 panel and arrived with an official announcement trailer. The Switch version is also planned to receive a physical release.
Bounty Sisters follows three bounty-hunting sisters who pilot their own machines while taking on criminals and other enemies. Players move through vertical scrolling stages while using each sister’s main weapon, sub weapon, support attacks from the other sisters, and bomb-style special techniques. The game supports one to two players. The three sisters are Dorothy, Elizabeth, and Frances, who are also referred to as Dot, Betty, and Fanny in Japanese materials. The story begins after the sisters become known for capturing wanted criminals. When they learn that the bounty target Gumb Ereb has taken control of the city through an underground business, the sisters head toward there in their machines.
PiXEL’s Japanese materials describe the game as a new vertical scrolling shooter with a comedy-style story told through full voice acting. Stages include changing layouts, environmental gimmicks, large creatures, and boss fights. Character designs, illustrations, and some art direction were handled by Shuzilow.HA. His previous work includes the TwinBee series, Parodius series, and Gaiapolis: The Golden Hawk. The sound staff includes TECHNOuchi as sound director, Junya Nakano as lead composer, MIKI-CHANG and Takako Yumishima as composers, and Go Sato on sound effects.
The Japanese Switch release was sold in standard, limited special, and digital editions. The limited special edition included the game, a Shuzilow.HA artwork book, acrylic stand figures, and a mini album.
Aksys Games has not announced a specific North American release date for Bounty Sisters. The game is planned for Nintendo Switch this fall.
