Granblue Fantasy Relink Endless Ragnarok Review

When people play their favorite games they always want more of it. Thats where dlc and expansions come in, these tend to add more content and improve the games and while they are not required to play and enjoy a game, more often than not they improve the experience and are worth the extra price. Granblue Fantasy Relink has its very own expansion called Endless Ragnarok. This expansion adds new missions, new playable characters, a new game mode and mechanic and a new story campaign, making an already fun experience even more of a fun experience. The only big issue is what you have to do in order to accuse and prepare for the dlc.

In order to accuse the dlc, first you have to complete the main campaign, then you have to complete every quest, only then can you accuse the main component of the dlc. But i don’t recommend starting the dlc story until you make preparations. You will need to have a team around level 100 and have most of your masteries unlocked for those characters. Unlike the main story, the dlc’s story is told through the missions you are assigned. These missions are filled with stronger enemies then in the main campaign, but you are granted a huge advantage, you finally get to use summons.

During the main campaign you see Lyria capturing primal beast, which anyone who has played a JRPG knows this signifies these are summons you get to use but you never get to. The dlc however, lets you actually use those summons. You get to feel the raw power these beasts have as you mow down hordes of enemies. While the story shows the reason why you couldn’t use the summons before, after using these summons, it makes me wish we could have used them sooner.

The dlc also gives you new characters you can unlock and they are all fun to play as. While you still need the crew card item to unlock most of them, two of them you unlock just by completing all the easy and normal missions. Once you finish the story you get Id as a playable character, but the dlc lets you unlock the other two generals of the Avia Church. I wont lie, I figured we would have unlocked them after beating the game. They gave off that vibe but they weren’t playable but thanks to the dlc, they are now playable. The best thing is that you can unlock the dlc characters during the main story if you save your crewmate cards since they cost more then one unlock the main game characters.

You also get accused of new critical missions, which while hard, give the best experience points and mastery points. One specific mission is just fighting a bunch of slimes. These monsters are famous for giving money, exp, and mastery points when defeated, making this the best mission for grinding late game. While you might struggle defeating these enemies due to the difficulty, after a while you will be able to breeze through them. Just bring your best team and get to grinding. You can even play online with other players to make it easier for you.

You also get accused of another game mode called the Conflux. After half way through the story a portal will open up in the alleyway of Seedhollow. This portal starts the mission where you have to survey the area in the portal and it plays like a rougelike. You go through different missions and get a powerup after a few battles, which will be different every playthrough. When you complete the survey, you get to choose from a set of rewards. You can get items for upgrading your weapons, forging new weapons or even upgrading your signals. This mode is perfect for making your characters even stronger then just leveling them up. As you progress more in the story you unlock deeper levels in the Conflux, and the deeper levels will grant you even better items, so get ready to dive in and make your grind easier to make the ultimate skyfarer.

In conclusion, Endless Ragnarok  is a great expansion to an already great game. It adds more story, expanding on the lore, the new missions add more fun and makes level grinding much easier, and the new game mode gives us a new experience and makes buffing up our characters a breeze. Overall I highly recommend adding this expansion to your Granblue Fantasy Relink game and join in on the fun.
