Microsoft has now released a new bundle option for the Xbox One S that includes everyone’s favorite open world, cubic sand box game, Minecraft. It is quite difficult not to notice how pervasive Minecraft has become since its original release in 2011. Not since Super Mario or Pokémon has something from the video game world become so instantly recognizable and such big part of not only so called “nerd” culture, but pop culture as a whole. Microsoft definitely took notice of this when they bought the property in 2014 for $2.5 billion dollars.
This new bundle definitely shows confidence in the Minecraft brand. More often than not its usually some console exclusive shooter or sports game that is paired along with the new consoles, to drive sales and attract an audience. It says lot when this game that was originally independently developed, can match up the likes of any triple A title in popularity. It is the best-selling PC game of all time after all.
The Minecraft Xbox One S bundle will include: A download code Minecraft: Xbox One Edition and a code for the Windows 10 beta for Minecraft. A download code for the Minecraft: Xbox One favorites packs will also be available and includes: Festive Mash-up Pack, Halo Mash-up, Fantasy Texture Pack, Natural Texture Pack, City Texture Pack, Battle & Beasts Skin Pack and Battle and Beasts 2 Skin Pack. There will also be a download code for the Builders Pack which will include: Biome Settlers Skin Pack, Cartoon Texture Pack, Candy Texture Pack, Plastic Texture Pack, Pattern Texture Pack and the Greek Mythology Mash-up. On the more standard side of things, the bundle includes an Xbox One S with 500GB of internal storage, and Xbox One S wireless controller, and 14 day Xbox Live Gold membership.
