Rainbow Six Siege: Fixing New Attachments

Following the release of the latest update to hit Rainbow Six Siege, there was a problem wit one of the new additions. The muzzle break, one of the newest attachments added in the Mid- Season Reinforcements update, has not been functioning the way the developers originally intended.

In a forum post, Ubisoft made a statement regarding the new attachment and what exactly had to be changed. The muzzle break was able to be put on a automatic rifle instead of only  on a semi auto one. The result of this was an overlapping of the muzzle break, and the original compensator used for full auto weapons.

The intention of the Muzzle Brake attachment was to reduce first shot recoil; however, it was not intended to reduce the recoil of automatic fire, which it has been doing since its introduction. To correct this, we deployed a server-side fix to remove the automatic fire recoil reduction, something that the Compensator already does. The Muzzle Brake will still have reduced first shot recoil making it a viable option for tap firing behavior.

A server side fix was used to correct the issue, meaning that players did not have to download the update because it will already be put into place the next time they decide to play.

The Mid- Season Reinforcements update brought new weapons and operator changes. For more details about the update feel free to click here.

Ubisoft, in their patch notes stated that they would continue to produce updates such as that in the future and ensure players have the best possible gameplay possible.
