WEBCAST: Xbox Games Showcase

With Sony already coming in strong with their PlayStation 5 Reveal event, it’s Microsoft’s turn to show us what they’ve been working on. Since we’ve already seen what the Xbox Series X looks like, this presentation will be focused on the games, as well as any updates to existing ones for the Xbox One. We’re finally going to get real good look at some of the first-party titles being developed for the Xbox Series X, including the much-hyped and anticipated Halo InfiniteThe presentation takes place on Thursday, July 23, and here’s what we’re expecting to see.

We’ve already mentioned Halo Infinite, but it really merits another word here as it’s undoubtedly going to be one of the major IP’s for the Xbox Series X. There’s a lot of mystery shrouded in just how the game will play, but the biggest concern is how the story will continue from where Halo 5: Guardians left off. Thankfully, Microsoft plans to showcase for the first time some footage from the main campaign of Halo Infinite, including gameplay and potentially other aspects of the game that 343 Industries has been working on.

Speaking of which, Microsoft has gathered a who’s who of first-party developers recently, all of which have been working on one title or another. Some of the more prominent ones include Ninja Theory, Obsidian Entertainment, Playground Games, inXile Entertainment, and Double Fine Productions. Ninja Theory in particular is working on another huge game that we already know will be on the Xbox Series X is Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II. We might finally get a look at how the game looks and plays on Thursday.

Of course, there’s other major IPs we can expect like the survival title Grounded, Psychonauts 2, Project Mara, and more. There’s also the distinct possibility that some dormant franchises will be resurrected for the Xbox Series X. Two, in particular, have been recently rumored for this week’s event, Fable and Perfect Dark. Despite Microsoft downplaying this, the opportunity is definitely there, and we guarantee that if either makes an appearance on Thursday, the internet will erupt in exhilaration.

You can tune in on Thursday at 9:00 am PST/12:00 pm EST to watch the entire Xbox Games Showcase below:
