War Child Announces Results of This War of Mine DLC Charity Drive

Last month, 11 bit studios and charity War Child partnered up to release the War Child DLC for 11 bit’s sleeper hit, This War of Mine.

The DLC adds several pieces of artwork from well known artists to the game world in the form of graffiti that permeates the environment. Costing a mere  dollar, all proceeds from the DLC would go to War Child and their continuing effort to help children in war-torn countries. More benevolent gamers could donate more money by purchasing additional tiers of this DLC for $10 and $20.

As a result, the proceeds from this DLC have been used to save 350 children in the Middle East, as announced by a press release. The region, as everyone should know, is currently engulfed in a war between the governments like Iraq, Jordan, Syria and the bloodthirsty lunatics of the Islamic State.

Thanks to the money raised by gamers who purchased the game’s War Child DLC, the charity has managed to help children caught up in the conflict through, according to them, “psycho-social support to recover from trauma, child friendly spaces to make sure War Child can reach a child before someone else does, informal education: school fees, livelihood support, teacher training and others.”

According to the helpful infographic below, most of the purchasers of this DLC came from the United States, Germany, the United Kingdom, and Russia.  Additionally, it also notes that only fifty players have managed to uncover every single piece of artwork in the DLC, which is indicated by acquiring the unique achievement, “Note: Street Art.”

The War Child Charity DLC will continue to collect funds until April 3, so those who wish to support both a great game and a great charity have some time to do so.
