Version 1.4 Of Mihoyo’s Zenless Zone Zero Introduces Updated Exploration, Combat, Characters And A PlayStation 5 Pro Upgrade

Developer Mihoyo announced on December 6th 2024 that an update for their Zenless Zone Zero would launch on December 18 2024. According to Gamesradar the update is being headlined by the introduction of two brand new S-tier characters; Agent Miyabi and agent Harumasa. Other major changes to the update include overhauls to the puzzle centric ‘TV mode’ and a PlayStation 5 Pro update allowing for a ray-tracing option in game.

Gematsu reports by an update via Mihoyo that two significant updates are coming to Zenless Zone Zero’s combat system, one known as Hollow Zero: Shadows Lost which includes the addition of new locales Port Elpis and Reverb Arena. The other is known as Deadly assault; You’ll fight in the Lost Void and Reverb Arena which features a tower-defense style of combat. Decibels are no longer shared in combat, they are built individually allowing characters to unleash their ultimate abilities in a row.

Version 1.4 marks the replacement of the Zenless Zone Zero’s TV mode with additional exploration; Prologue stages have been added to the HDD system, the game’s rogue-like gameplay portion.TV mode moving forward will be replaced with story stages allowing Proxies to dive into battles while commanding Eous to explore Hollows. Shared on Gamesradar, Producer Zhenyu Li and two developers had this to say in a joint comment on TV mode “The TV mode has been one of the most frequently discussed features based on player feedback, which is why it has undergone significant changes from Version 1.0 to the current Version 1.4. For us, player feedback is a crucial driving force behind the game’s long-term growth. We are neither surprised by nor dismissive of any feedback. Instead, we sincerely appreciate all feedback and are always eager to listen to what every player has to say.”

Zenless Zone Zero Version 1.4 will release on PlayStation 5 Pro, PC, iOS, and Android. The game’s feature-rich update may be enough to entice existing fans and perhaps bring in new fans who’ve just purchased a PlayStation 5 Pro. With the game update releasing in a couple short weeks we won’t have to wait long to see the reception.
