Square Enix’s latest adventure is approaching! Valkyrie Elysium is a thrilling action RPG, the latest installment in the Valkyrie series, coming to PlayStation on September 29th this year. This announcement comes after the game’s PSN (Playstation Network) store page unexpectedly updated, revealing not only its release date but new screenshots as well. Apparently on the game’s Japanese page, trailer was accidentally released but taken down shortly afterward. Square Enix initially announced Valkyrie Elysium during the PlayStation State Of Play in March 2022; so to see a release date so soon has many fans surprised.
The Valkyrie series is an RPG series based on Norse Mythology, telling the story of the Valkyrie Lenneth and her companions on a mission to prevent the destruction of Asgard. Valkyrie Elysium takes place in the hands of a new Valkyrie, by Odin, the All-Father. Within this world based on Norse Mythology, this new Valkyrie must defeat powerful enemies in order to prevent Ragnarok.

While there is much speculation as to the location of the screenshots in-game and the sudden announcement, many fans see these updates as leading to a new trailer as the release date draws closer. Valkyrie Elysium releases on PS4, PS5, and Steam on September 29th, 2022.
