The already ground-breaking game seems to be taking it even further. Black Myth: Wukong, the highly-anticipated ARPG in the works by indie developers Game Science, was confirmed earlier today to be getting an upgrade to Unreal Engine 5. Black Myth: Wukong is a still-in-development story-based adventure game that sends the player character, Sun Wukong, on a series of journeys in order to master new abilities and learn the secrets of immortality. The game, based on the “Journey to the West” Chinese story, already features several unique and complex features, such as special combat abilities, a detailed open world, and elaborate character designs. Still, this doesn’t seem to be slowing developers down. In fact, it only seems to be pushing them to go further.

Earlier today, a new trailer revealed that Black Myth: Wukong will be developed on Unreal Engine 5, which will provide a major boost to the quality of an already impressive game. This new engine will enable the game to utilize 4K resolution at 60 frames per second, as well as allow for raytracing, and Nvidia DLSS when the game is launched. The switch to Unreal Engine 5 is being made with support from Epic Games and Nvidia, and, needless to say, fan expectations for the game are only getting higher and higher.
Alongside the announcement, Game Science released a new 12-minute trailer for Black Myth: Wukong, showing off the new and improved graphics, as well as revealing more about the game’s mechanics, world, and storyline. For more information, you can check out the trailer below.
Though announcements and information about Black Myth: Wukong are minimal, from what fans have seen so far, there seems to be a lot to be excited about.
