Ubisoft’s Roller Champions Set to Release on May 25 After Three Years of Delays

After years of delays, Ubisoft’s Roller Champions is set to be released next week on May 25. This release comes three years after it was announced back in 2019 at E3. Originally, the game was going to be released in early 2020 but was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. More recently, the game was supposed to be released in February of 2022 before being delayed once again.

Roller Champions has some hints of Rocket League as players race around a roller derby track. Teams of three will fight for a ball that grants a point if they score at the end of each lap. The winning team will either score five points before the other, or it will be whichever team has the most points when the match time ends.

Roller Champions also features a Battle Pass for players. The battle pass will allow players to unlock different aspects of the game. Helmets, emotes, skates, outfits, and more will all be available for players to unlock if they have purchased the Battle Pass. The Battle Pass will feature both free and premium tiers that offer different accessories. More Battle Pass features are likely to be released once the game comes out as a way to keep the community engaged.

Roller Champions will also have the ability to use cross-progression. Cross-progression allows players to transfer their progress between consoles. This feature will likely draw in more players since many have begun to switch between different consoles.

Although the release of Roller Champions took some time, fans should be excited about the upcoming release. The game will be fast-paced and should draw in a large community of players who follow Ubisoft or are looking for a new game.
