Earlier today, Ubisoft Montreal, the company behind the Assassins Creed series and popular tactical-shooter Rainbow Six: Siege announced that they would be releasing new free-to-play FPS battle royale title for multiple platforms. The project, given the code-name “Prisma Dimensions”, is a new AAA multiplayer battle royale game set in a futuristic virtual world. Hyper Scape will be releasing on PC first, with a console release coming later in the year that will include cross-play functionality with all consoles that have the game. The closed beta for Hyper Scape will begin next week with the open beta afterward and a full release slated for July 12th. Similar to the launch of popular FPS titles like Apex Legends and Valorant, Ubisoft Montreal has invited hundreds of content creators, professional players, and streamers from across platforms to get the first glimpse of the game.
Along with a free release, Ubisoft Montreal will be partnering with the streaming platform Twitch to bring “levels of integration from a big game that has never been seen before.” One of these special features of the game will include a mechanic that will allow Twitch chat, among other things, the ability to directly affect the live game with game-changing events. Hyper Scape is Ubisoft’s first entry into the popular world of Battle Royale games, competing with other popular titles like Fortnite, Apex Legends, and Call of Duty: Warzone. The next two weeks of beta testing and pre-release gameplay will be a test to see whether or not Hyper Scape can compete with the rival battle royale giants in the industry. Ubisoft Montreal has plans to release a teaser trailer for Hyper Scape later today, which will be linked here.
