Ubisoft Delays Riders Republic, Still Slated to Launch This Year

It looks like Hogwarts Legacy isn’t the only game getting pushed back this year. Ubisoft has announced that their upcoming title Riders Republic has officially been delayed. The game was originally scheduled to launch on February 25, just a little more than a month from now, but due to this indefinite hold, we no longer have any release date. Thankfully, Ubisoft states that Riders Republic is still due to launch sometime this year, unlike Hogwarts Legacy which has been omitted from 2021 altogether.

In the statement, Ubisoft mentions that “Today we want to let you know that we have made the decision to move our release to later this year. This additional time will allow our passionate team to deliver the best fun fueled experience to our players.” As mentioned earlier, the studio is still planning on releasing the later this year, which hopefully means that the development is farther along than they make it sound. If anything, they may just need to fine-tune the title before officially making it available to the public, something that is an integral part of the video game development process. However, as we’ve stated in previous articles, if a studio has more time to finish their respective project, the better.

Riders Republic was revealed during the Ubisoft Forward event back in September, with the game being described as a massive multiplayer game that lets players “participate in biking, skiing, snowboarding, and wingsuiting in some of the most popular national parks in the United States with their friends.” The game is being developed by Ubisoft Annecy, the same studio that made Steep, a similar title that combines different winter-themed activities that takes place in the Alps mountains.

Riders Republic will launch sometime in 2021 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Google Stadia.
